Server Rules
These rules apply to all instances of the Xuanyun Pavilion Survival and Creative servers, and to the QQ group, voice channels and private messages whenever server matters are involved. By joining the server or the community group you agree to these rules.
Clauses use a three-level numbering scheme (chapter · section · item), so 3.2.a means chapter 3, section 2, item a. Every section has its own anchor and can be linked and cited directly.
2.1 Zero tolerance for political content (instant removal)
Any politically sensitive content, political jokes or innuendo, or mockery of national symbols and leaders is strictly zero-tolerance: immediate removal from the server and community group, with no warning, no appeal and no reconsideration.
This clause outranks every other clause in these rules. See 2.1.

Chapter 0 General Provisions
0.1 Scope
- 0.1.a These rules apply in game, in the QQ group, in voice channels, and in any public or private exchange concerning the server.
- 0.1.b Behaviour outside the server may also be handled if it has a real impact on our players.
- 0.1.c Joining with an alternate account or someone else's account is equally bound by these rules.
0.2 Effect and Updates
- 0.2.a These rules are updated as the server operates; the latest version on this page always applies.
- 0.2.b Updates are not announced individually; check them before taking part in activities.
- 0.2.c "I did not know the rule" is not a valid excuse.
0.3 Evidence and Judgement
- 0.3.a Enforcement is based on verifiable evidence: server logs, block records, chat history, screenshots and recordings.
- 0.3.b Staff do not act on impressions, and players are not required to prove their innocence; more complete evidence simply means faster handling.
- 0.3.c Where facts are disputed, the server logs decide.
Chapter 1 Penalty System
1.1 Penalty Levels
Enforcement has four levels, escalating with the nature and severity of the violation. Clause 2.1 (political content) goes straight to level four, skipping all earlier levels.
| Level | Name | Applies to | Action | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Observation | Minor or ambiguous cases, or a first offence with no real harm | Recorded and communicated; no restriction. A repeat escalates | Long-term record |
| 2 | Warning | Clear violations with limited impact, or minor damage where the player cooperates | Formal warning plus required correction; cleanup or rollback where needed | On record; escalates when repeated |
| 3 | Temporary ban | Repeated violations, real losses caused to others, or clear bad faith | Temporary removal from the server and group, optionally with rollbacks or revoked privileges | 1 to 30 days |
| 4 | Permanent ban | Serious destruction, cheating, privacy violations, evading penalties, political content | Permanent removal from the server and community group, with no unban | Permanent |
1.2 Escalation and Accumulation
- 1.2.a Repeating the same level within its active period automatically moves you up one level.
- 1.2.b Observation and warning records are kept long term and do not expire automatically.
- 1.2.c A temporary ban lifts automatically when it expires, but the record remains; a further violation starts from that level or higher.
1.3 Aggravating Circumstances
- 1.3.a Bad faith, premeditation, or organising others to act.
- 1.3.b Targeting new players, or profiting from their unfamiliarity with the game.
- 1.3.c Refusing to cooperate with an investigation, deleting evidence or coordinating stories.
- 1.3.d Continuing the same behaviour during an appeal or while a case is being handled.
1.4 Mitigating Circumstances
- 1.4.a Admitting the act, stopping the harm promptly and helping to repair it can reduce the penalty by one level.
- 1.4.b Reporting an undiscovered exploit voluntarily carries no penalty and earns a commendation on record.
- 1.4.c Players induced by others who can provide evidence may receive a reduced penalty.
1.5 Enforcement
- 1.5.a Depending on the case, enforcement may also include rolling back destroyed blocks and containers, removing illegitimately obtained items, removing offending structures, or revoking land membership.
- 1.5.b Rollbacks are limited to what verifiable logs support.
- 1.5.c Appeals do not suspend enforcement; the original penalty stays in effect while an appeal is reviewed.
Chapter 2 Zero Tolerance
The following skip the earlier levels and go directly to a level-four permanent ban.
2.1 Political Content
- 2.1.a Any politically sensitive content, political jokes or innuendo, or mockery, caricature or ridicule of national symbols and national leaders is forbidden.
- 2.1.b This covers, but is not limited to: in-game chat, builds and naming, nicknames and skins, signs and books, QQ group messages, nicknames and avatars, voice channels, and any image, link or filename.
- 2.1.c Enforcement is immediate removal: instant ban and removal from the community group, with no warning, no appeal and no reconsideration.
- 2.1.d Do not test the boundary, and do not ask whether something "counts". If you are unsure, do not post it.
- 2.1.e Knowingly letting others post such content, joining in, or spreading it is treated the same way.
2.2 Other Zero-Tolerance Behaviour
- 2.2.a Sexual, violent or otherwise illegal content involving minors.
- 2.2.b Distributing malware or phishing links, or attacking the server or its players.
- 2.2.c Buying or selling in-game items, currency, privileges or accounts for real money.
- 2.2.d Impersonating staff to exercise privileges or issue notices.
- 2.2.e Deliberately causing large-scale data damage or extended downtime.
Chapter 3 Respect and Privacy
3.1 No Harassment
- 3.1.a Insults, discrimination, sustained harassment, deliberate provocation, threats and sexual harassment are forbidden.
- 3.1.b Do not incite others to gang up on or collectively target a player.
- 3.1.c Do not persistently follow or deliberately disrupt other players.
- 3.1.d Light jokes and normal conversation are fine; the test is whether the other person says it makes them uncomfortable, and you must stop once they do.
3.2 Privacy
- 3.2.a Do not publish or request others' real names, addresses, contact details, or their workplace or school.
- 3.2.b Do not publish or request others' account details, verification methods or payment information.
- 3.2.c Do not record or share others' private chats or voice without clear consent.
- 3.2.d Do not threaten to expose anyone's private information.
3.3 No Impersonation or Misleading
- 3.3.a Do not impersonate staff, other players or official group accounts.
- 3.3.b Do not post fake server announcements, event information or rule interpretations.
- 3.3.c Do not ask for items, accounts or money in the name of "the server".
Chapter 4 Fair Play
4.1 No Cheating
- 4.1.a Any client, mod, resource pack, macro or script that grants abnormal information or an automation advantage is forbidden.
- 4.1.b This includes, but is not limited to: x-ray (including x-ray resource packs), freecam, automatic mining, automatic fighting, automatic building, auto-clicking, path automation, flying and clipping through blocks.
- 4.1.c Do not use multiple accounts or coordinated groups to circumvent single-account limits.
- 4.1.d Items and builds obtained through cheating tools may be cleaned up or rolled back.
4.2 Allowed Assistance
- 4.2.a Features that only improve visuals, performance or key bindings, and that neither reveal unexplored information nor act for you, are generally acceptable: shaders, performance mods, minimaps (without entity or ore x-ray), inventory sorting and key hints.
- 4.2.b When unsure, ask staff in the community group first and use it only after you get an answer.
- 4.2.c "Not explicitly forbidden" does not mean "allowed"; the staff answer decides.
4.3 Exploits
Finding and Reporting
- 4.3.a If you find duplication, item glitches, privilege escalation, server crashes, lag machines or other exploits, stop using them immediately and report to staff at the first opportunity.
- 4.3.b When reporting, provide the time, reproduction steps and screenshots where possible so staff can locate and fix the issue.
- 4.3.c Reporting an undisclosed exploit voluntarily carries no penalty and earns a commendation; any gains already made are revoked or rolled back under 1.5.
- 4.3.d Once an exploit is public or has been announced by staff, the 4.3.c exemption no longer applies.
- 4.3.e Report through the bug report site at bug.xygmc.top, or contact staff in the community group 1083870083; for serious or urgent cases, reach staff directly.
Penalties for Exploiting
- 4.3.f Triggering an exploit by accident, stopping immediately, reporting voluntarily and causing no actual loss: Level 1 Observation.
- 4.3.g Gaining a small number of items or values by mistake, not reporting, but without spreading it or affecting others: Level 2 Warning, with the gains revoked.
- 4.3.h Repeatedly exploiting a known bug, or using it to obtain large amounts of items, currency or land: Level 3 Temporary Ban, with rollback or revocation under 1.5.
- 4.3.i Large-scale farming, building automated exploit setups or profiting from them: Level 4 Permanent Ban.
- 4.3.j Using an exploit to escalate privileges, including bypassing land permissions, altering others' data, obtaining staff powers or reading others' information: Level 4 Permanent Ban.
- 4.3.k Using an exploit to crash or lag the server, or causing large-scale chunk, entity or save corruption: Level 4 Permanent Ban.
- 4.3.l Staff may roll back, clean up or revoke abnormal data produced by an exploit without prior notice.
Spreading and Assisting
- 4.3.m Publicly or privately spreading the method, tools or a tutorial for an exploit: Level 3 Temporary Ban or higher; where it causes wide spread or serious consequences, Level 4 Permanent Ban.
- 4.3.n Helping, encouraging, teaming up with or providing tools for others to exploit: treated the same as the person who carries it out.
- 4.3.o Knowing about an exploit, staying silent and profiting from it, or storing or moving gains on someone's behalf: Level 3 Temporary Ban.
- 4.3.p Trading, gifting or laundering gains from an exploit: handled under 6.2.e with heavier penalties.
Cooperation and Correction
- 4.3.q Those involved must cooperate by explaining how, how far and where the exploit was used; refusing to cooperate, deleting evidence or colluding is aggravated under 1.3.c.
- 4.3.r Handing back gains voluntarily and helping locate and fix the exploit can reduce the penalty by one level under 1.4.a.
- 4.3.s Whether something counts as an exploit, how serious it is and which level applies are decided by staff under 0.3.
4.4 Modpacks and Mods
- 4.4.a The Survival server requires the official modpack provided in the community group files; it contains the mods the server runs on.
- 4.4.b Do not add or remove balance-affecting mods yourself. Missing mods cause failed connections or constant disconnects.
- 4.4.c The Creative server needs no modpack, but cheating tools and automation scripts that affect others remain forbidden.
- 4.4.d Whether something counts as "balance-affecting" is decided by staff; ask first if unsure.
Chapter 5 Land and Building
5.1 Land Protection
- 5.1.a Breaking, stealing or taking others' crops, containers and entities without consent is forbidden.
- 5.1.b Unclaimed land does not mean free access; this clause applies regardless of whether land is claimed.
- 5.1.c Do not interfere with others' redstone, farms, mob grinders or builds in any way.
- 5.1.d On the Survival server, claim your land before building long term; see Player Commands.
5.2 Building Standards
- 5.2.a Do not squeeze up against someone else's build, road or reserved area; leave reasonable visual and expansion space.
- 5.2.b Discuss large projects, public transport and community areas with neighbours or staff beforehand.
- 5.2.c Do not deliberately cause large-scale terrain damage, meaningless block litter or builds that block movement.
- 5.2.d Do not modify public facilities, spawn buildings or event areas without authorisation.
5.3 Members and Cooperation
- 5.3.a Land members share building permissions; confirm the trust relationship before adding anyone.
- 5.3.b Disputes between members are handled by the land owner first; the owner may submit evidence to request staff assistance.
- 5.3.c Staff do not accept unconditional rollback liability for losses caused by member permissions.
- 5.3.d Do not bring another player's land under your own permissions without permission.
5.4 Creative Server Rules
- 5.4.a The Creative server allows free building, but you may not overwrite or alter others' work.
- 5.4.b Do not build close enough to someone else's work to spoil it; talk to them first.
- 5.4.c Chapter 4 (Fair Play) applies to the Creative server as well.
- 5.4.d Running in creative mode does not excuse damaging others' work.
Chapter 6 Economy and Trading
6.1 Trading Principles
- 6.1.a Trades must be voluntary and honestly described.
- 6.1.b For large trades, confirm the items, quantity and amount in person and keep screenshots.
- 6.1.c Agreed trades should be honoured; backing out requires both sides to agree.
6.2 Prohibited Trading Behaviour
- 6.2.a Bait-and-switch, false advertising and deliberately misleading prices.
- 6.2.b Promising and then refusing to deliver, or profiting from new players' unfamiliarity.
- 6.2.c Buying or selling in-game items, currency, privileges or accounts for real money, boosting services, external accounts or benefits outside the server.
- 6.2.d Forcing trades through threats or harassment.
- 6.2.e Exploiting shop or economy bugs for illegitimate gain; 4.3 also applies.
6.3 Trade Disputes
- 6.3.a Staff review clear evidence but do not provide unconditional rollbacks or guarantees for every voluntary trade.
- 6.3.b Disputes with no usable evidence are difficult for staff to act on.
- 6.3.c Fraud is treated as an aggravating circumstance and may lead to a temporary or permanent ban.
Chapter 7 Chat and Voice
7.1 Public Chat
- 7.1.a Do not spam, repeat messages or monopolise channels.
- 7.1.b Do not post unrelated advertising, other servers' recruitment or referral links.
- 7.1.c Do not keep starting arguments or escalating conflict in public channels.
- 7.1.d Normal conversation, light jokes and sharing your builds are welcome.
7.2 Voice Channels
- 7.2.a Screaming, playing disruptive audio and malicious open-mic harassment are forbidden.
- 7.2.b Do not record or share others' voice without consent.
- 7.2.c Stop immediately when someone says a behaviour makes them uncomfortable.
- 7.2.d Playing music and similar activities are limited to situations where everyone in the channel agrees.
7.3 Handling Disputes
- 7.3.a Stop escalating, keep records and contact staff.
- 7.3.b Do not organise a pile-on or repeatedly call people out publicly.
- 7.3.c Do not spread unverified accusations in the group.
Chapter 8 Performance and Shared Environment
8.1 Entities and Redstone
- 8.1.a Keep entity counts under control and avoid piling up large numbers of mobs in one loaded area.
- 8.1.b Keep very large high-frequency redstone and unnecessary chunk loaders under control.
- 8.1.c Do not deliberately cause lag or consume server resources.
- 8.1.d When performance suffers, staff may require changes, limits or removal of the relevant builds.
8.2 Public Areas
- 8.2.a Public roads, spawn and event areas prioritise convenience and safety.
- 8.2.b Do not place traps, choke points or structures that block movement in public areas.
- 8.2.c Do not dump meaningless blocks or litter in public areas.
8.3 Cleanup Process
- 8.3.a Staff will try to contact the owner before cleaning up or adjusting performance-heavy builds.
- 8.3.b In emergencies staff may act first and explain afterwards.
- 8.3.c Builds removed for performance reasons generally receive no compensation.
Chapter 9 Accounts and Identity
9.1 Account Ownership
- 9.1.a Losses from account sharing, selling or borrowing are the account holder's responsibility.
- 9.1.b Do not use alternate accounts to evade penalties, farm rewards, bypass limits or manipulate the economy.
- 9.1.c Staff enforce against the account itself; "it is someone else's account" does not excuse it.
9.2 Prohibited Behaviour
- 9.2.a Do not bypass bans, mutes, IP restrictions or verification.
- 9.2.b Do not use someone else's account to keep playing after a penalty.
- 9.2.c Do not help others evade penalties.
9.3 Content Requirements
- 9.3.a Skins, nicknames, builds and chat must not contain illegal, hateful, pornographic or threatening content.
- 9.3.b They must not contain official-impersonating information.
- 9.3.c They must not contain the political content described in 2.1.
Chapter 10 Staff Team and Discretion
10.1 Staff Authority
- 10.1.a The staff team handles enforcement, disputes, technical upkeep and events.
- 10.1.b Staff may act on behaviour not explicitly listed but clearly harmful to players or the server.
- 10.1.c Staff decisions are based on these rules and are kept on record.
10.2 Discretion Clause
This clause gives staff room to judge
The following is a short discretionary clause. Within its limits, staff may judge freely without matching a specific rule line by line.
- 10.2.a For situations the rules do not cover, staff may judge and act on the basic principle of "does this make trouble for others?"
- 10.2.b Discretion favours education first: anything solvable by a reminder or a conversation is not punished directly.
- 10.2.c Discretionary action is capped at level two (warning); a temporary or permanent ban requires at least two rule clauses or clear evidence.
- 10.2.d Discretionary action follows the escalation rules in 1.2 and must be recorded with a stated reason.
- 10.2.e Players who disagree with a discretionary decision may appeal under 11.2.
10.3 Interim Measures
- 10.3.a In urgent situations (such as ongoing destruction or a flood of political content), staff may act first and explain afterwards.
- 10.3.b Such action should be explained to the player or the group as soon as possible.
- 10.3.c If an interim measure turns out to be wrong, staff should correct it promptly.
10.4 Staff Conduct
- 10.4.a Staff must not use their authority to gain in-game benefits for themselves or others.
- 10.4.b Staff must not abuse authority, act arbitrarily or target specific players.
- 10.4.c Staff taking part in normal play follow the same rules as players.
- 10.4.d Report staff misconduct to other staff members, or to the group owner if needed.
Chapter 11 Reports and Appeals
11.1 How to Report
Contact staff in the QQ group 1083870083 and provide:
- 11.1.a The player name and the time it happened.
- 11.1.b The location or coordinates.
- 11.1.c What happened.
- 11.1.d Verifiable evidence such as logs, screenshots or recordings.
- 11.1.e Submit reports through staff channels; do not call people out publicly.
11.2 How to Appeal
- 11.2.a If you disagree with an action, raise it in the QQ group with your reasoning and evidence.
- 11.2.b Continuing to evade a penalty during an appeal affects the outcome.
- 11.2.c Keep your account complete and avoid repeatedly harassing staff.
- 11.2.d Enforcement is based on evidence rather than impressions, so more complete evidence means faster handling.
- 11.2.e Discretionary decisions in effect can also be appealed.
11.3 What Will Not Be Accepted
- 11.3.a Political content cannot be appealed.
- 11.3.b Accusations with no verifiable evidence at all.
- 11.3.c Repeated appeals with identical content.
- 11.3.d Appeals whose purpose is to harass staff.
When in doubt, ask first
These rules cannot cover every case. Harmful behaviour that is not listed may still be handled; see 10.2 for the test. The point is not to restrict normal play, but to make sure every bit of genuine effort is respected.
